Editorships and Editorial Board Memberships

July 2014-present:
Member of the editorial committee of the Journal of Research in Music Education. Often considered the flagship journal in music education research, JRME is a quarterly, peer-reviewed journal comprising reports of original research related to music teaching and learning. The wide range of topics includes various aspects of music pedagogy, history, and philosophy, and addresses vocal, instrumental, and general music at all levels, from early childhood through adult.

2014-present:
Member of the editorial committee of the Bulletin of the Council for Research in Music Education. CRME is a blind, peer-reviewed journal with a long and distinguished position in music education research, having been founded in 1963 by Richard Colwell at the University of Illinois. 

2014-present:
Member of the editorial board of New Directions: A Journal of Scholarship, Creativity and Leadership in Music EducationThe mission of New Directions is to provide a space for the music education community to discuss, debate and engage with one another – to provide a sort of “Town Hall” forum for the exchange of ideas and a clearinghouse for the conversations about the questions that fuel our growth as a profession. New Directions welcomes submissions of a diverse array of scholarly work, including policy briefs, curriculum studies, pedagogical and conducting analyses, position statements and collaborative writing, as well as reports of research of any methodological paradigm or design.

2014 - present:
Member of the editorial board of Research Perspectives in Music Education (RPME). RPME is a well-respected, peer-reviewed research journal published by the Florida Music Educators Association.

2014 - present
Member of the Florida Music Director review board. The Florida Music Director is a journal that serves as the official publication of the Florida Music Educators Association. 

2010 – present:
Member of the editorial board of the
Journal of Music Teacher Education (JMTE).  JMTE is a blind peer-reviewed journal sponsored by The National Association for Music Education (NAfME, formerly MENC) and the Society for Music Teacher Education (SMTE). The journal disseminates research of any methodology related to music teacher education. 

2009 – present: 
Reviewer of book proposal manuscripts for Oxford University Press. 

2007 – present: 
Member of the editorial board of Research and Issues in Music Education (RIME). RIME is an online, refereed, research journal in music education. 

2010 – 2013 
Member of the editorial board of Contributions to Music Education (CME). CME is a highly respected, refereed, music education research journal with an international circulation.

Member of the editorial board of Advances in Music Education Research (AMER). AMER is a music education book series published by Information Age Publishing, Inc. I was involved in these volumes:

Online Technology Mentor for MENC: The National Association for Music Education funded through a U. S. Department of Education grant. Responded to music technology related questions posed by music teachers from throughout the United States, providing advice for using technology to facilitate music teaching and learning. November/December, 2002.
